Real world creative insights

Today I'm taking a page from one of my daughter's favourite shows from when she was really small - TV Ontario's The Wild Kratts, with brothers Chris and Martin Kratt. At the beginning of each episode, the two brothers present some information about a wild animal or its habitat, and then, leaping to their feet and facing the camera, ask the question "what if" they, Chris and Martin, had the same powers?

I'm using this idea as a springboard for asking the "what if" question. What if we looked at things from a different perspective? What if we asked more, or less questions? What if we saw problems as solutions?

Here's a case in point.  Cannes Lions International Festival of Creative award winner, US based Saltwater Breweries. Clearly the company asked itself at some point - what if we did things differently? Their resulting industry-stoppingly great idea came when the company took an issue of significance to their target - clientele beer rings causing epic ocean disasters - and came up with a solution that benefits company, client and ocean. Their creative action? Replacing marine life disaster causing plastic beer can rings with sea animal edible and biodegradable ones.  A win-win-win trifecta demonstrating the benefits of breaking from what was to what is possible.

Check out their award winning ad here: Saltwater Brewery Edible Six Pack Rings.

The genius is not the ad, the genius is in the idea that led to the ad. Consider this: what if we connected our businesses with the issues and concerns dear to our community. What if our thinking and idea exploration led to a solution?

And now, what if other industries took this on board?

What if you took this and asked yourself and your business "what if?"

Best
